Why Most Streetwear Looks Overdesigned

Most streetwear tries too hard.

Too much going on. Simple & classic always comes out ahead.

What should feel effortless ends up looking forced.

More Isn’t Better

Adding more design doesn’t make something stronger.

It usually does the opposite. The more you add, the less clear it becomes. This goes back to being simplistic but also knowing when it's time to pivot.

It Loses Its Message

When there’s too much happening, nothing stands out.

The message gets lost. And without a clear message, the piece means nothing.

Simple Always Hits Harder

The strongest designs are usually the simplest.

One idea. One message. That’s what people remember.

That’s why so much streetwear feels off right now.

It’s not that there’s no creativity—it’s that there’s too much noise.

And the brands that cut through that are the ones that keep it simple.

But simple with a twist- can definitely be fashionable!

But the one idea, needs to be able to read and react to the market they are serving. And you need to know how & when to pivot.

Tomorrow you will get a better understanding.....
